Orb 2.0: Trying it out again

A long time ago, I tried out Orb right when it came out, and it was cool, seemed buggy. Yesterday I installed Orb 2.0, flashy new Ajaxy type site now, and a few more features. Still doesn’t work well over mobile data. I have to turn on Wi-Fi on my phone to get any good speeds/buffering. Even then the videos/movies audio is always ahead of the video. Listening to mp3’s over it is pretty good though.

Just another tool for the media toolbelt.

Has this company just fallen off the face of the earth? It really had a cool and exciting product….two years ago, but there has been no advancement, no new news, nothing. As a MAC user, I was hoping for a new mac version that would work well with the iPhone. It seems like a slam dunk, but it appears that Orb has missed the boat. If Apple comes out with a similar product…which the rumor mills are buzzing about then it could be an absolute waste of a cool and (at one point) novel application.

funny you mention it, because they just came out with an iPhone…client. I have a mac and couple PC’s here, one with a TV tuner. I installed orb again on it, and the orb iPhone client and it rocks. Streaming TV to my iPhone – yes a mac “server” would be nice as well
