I have been playing with VS.NET 2005 Beta 2 all night, the Personal Web Site Starter Kit. I have been modifying it and playing with all the new controls. Pretty sweet so far. Easy to consume RSS feeds, and get data from SQL. The master-detail page relationship is really cool, especially if you use templates for pages.

Malware
This week, I worked on a PC for someone, and wow, was it infected with Malware/Spyware, bad stuff. Couldn’t stop it with Norton, MS Antispyware, other tools, etc. I found some forums saying to follow these 20 steps and it might work – forget it, just redo the PC.
That stuff is nasty, you need to watch what you install, especially from the web, stuff that pops up. I have seen that kind of stuff dissipate since XP sp2, but this computer didn’t have that, and must have gotten something that way.
Freaky Weather
Last night, there were tornado warnings all around St. Cloud, but none in…Just weird…I guess there were some funnel clouds and stuff too. Its kind of different than up north MN, because we rarely had tornado warnings/watches. Central MN has a lot more of the bad weather.
Old School Computers (Kinda)
P.S – this is my first post from Outlook using NewsGator!
I have been on vacation for the last week. Good to unplug every once in a while.
MSN Search Toolbar
I recently reinstalled the MSN Search toolbar. I used to run the beta, but had uninstalled it because it was dogging my machine. I really like the version 1.0 – I use it to find emails in seconds. I like the newer interface too. This tool is a must if you have tons of emails and files.
Goofy Weather
WTF is up with the weather around here? 30 degrees and snow flurries one week, hot as heck the next. Rain every day! When is mother nature going to make up her mind and decide it is May and it should be pleasant outside!
Blue Frog Broadband
New wireless internet provider for the Central MN area. Check it out. It competes with Clearwire and Cityscape.
I’m at TGI Friday’s Bar Wars right now. Front row sears. It starts at 8. They are competing against Brooklyn Center. This is the only type of war I would support! (and Star Wars)
Update:
St. Cloud TGI Fridays won the competition, and it was a good show overall. It was like the movie “Cocktail” with Tom Cruise, some of those guys were awesome, like playing hackey sack with the bottles, and then making a drink out of it.
Been busy playing my gamecube, Zelda Windwaker. I haven’t played much for video games in a while, since I got tired of my PS2 games and haven’t bought any new ones lately.
I am getting pretty far, so that is cool. Brings back memories of me and Spiller at Southside Park Apt’s playing N64 Zelda..in between classes, and then after class, start drinking and play Zelda all night – oh the memories!
It’s funny how most people think the dood in the game (Link) is actually Zelda. Zelda is the Princess, Link is the hero – in this version you are another guy and you go back in time and blah blah, long story. Good game though. I need to hurry up and beat it so I can play my other games.
