Grasshopper What?

Grasshopper Takeover. One of my favorite bands. I was reading something on the 311 website a few years ago, and Nick (the lead singer of 311) was like “Grasshopper Takeover is good, check them out”, so I did. Back then I downloaded all their MP3 they had available on their website, and I really liked them. It was my “clean my apartment on Saturday morning” music.

Then, I was at the Red Carpet, and I was with some friends, and I was like “Wtf? This band must be covering GTO!?!?”, but then I saw the poster, and they were playing!! How rad. So when they were done, I went and talked to them and they gave me a cd because I was like the only one there that had even heard of them.

Lately, I was on Napster, and saw they had a new album out, “Elephant Dreams”. I downloaded and purchased it, and it is a great album, I can listen to it through and through.

If you haven’t checked these guys out, do it. They are a little different but once you listen to them I bet you will like them.

Where have you been?

Well I dont know if it is just me, but blogger is doggin these days. It takes like 10 minutes for me to login and make a post. Some cool things lately: I am beta testing MSN Messenger 7, I have been working on a project for a friends, a media center type thing, which is coming along, and just the same old same old. Work has been really busy lately, seems everytime I finish one thing, three more come down the pipe. Anyways, hopefully blogger starts cooperating or I am going to have to bust some heads.

Goole came out with this cool new thing last week, querying http://www.google.com with sms. You can send a query and they will send you back results, totally cool

if you send an SMS (not a shortmail or email) to GOOGL or 46645, like

Pizza 56387

It will return to you the top 3 results for pizza in Waite Park, MN. (Gary’s, etc).

Pretty cool.

Eating the Twinkies

The Twins lost their playoff series this year, just like the last year, and year before that. At least they are making it to the playoffs. I wish they would at least make it to the World Series. I think they would have done better in the playoffs this year if they wouldn’t have slacked after they clinched the division. Anyways, since the Wild aren’t playing, and the Vikes play once a week, I guess it is on to watching Poker on TV, since that is about the only sport on every day.

Got to Get You Trapped Under Ice

Betallica. A mix of The Beatles and Metallica. What a crazy concept. Funny as hell. I was lucky enough to find their site before they must have been shut down. They had two albums, self titled “Beatallica” and then “A Garage Dayz Nite”. They are both good and funny. They guy sounds just like James Hetfield. If you can find the mp3’s, you should download them, especially if you like The Beatles or Metallica. Beatles melodies with Metallica style lyrics or just in the style of Metallica with new lyrics. Crazy!

Betallica (you can download mp3 from their site)

The Great Debate

I didn’t watch the first debate, missed it. But last night I was flipping the channels before I went to bed and CNN was re-running the second debate in its entirety. I watched it and you know, John Kerry, even though he might not be the best candidate, was just way above President Bush, in every respect. Bush just stutters, and changes the subject, points fingers, takes no responsibility, etc. Kerry, even though I don’t know how much I believe him, seems like he is for the normal Joe America, while Bush could care less how 98% of Americans are or get treated. He won’t even say it, because he knows it would be a lie. It was great when Kerry said that the only people the tax plan he has would involve would be himself, President Bush, and Charlie Gibson (the moderator) – that was classic. And you know what, they have money, so paying money shouldn’t be a problem. It is about time someone at least thinks about it in that respect. Kerry talked about healthcare reform and how guys like me could lower my costs, that is what I am talking about. Take out the “catastrophic” events from insurance, and let the government pay for it. Everyday people should have insurance for their everyday visits, or whatever. People say that Kerry talks to sophisticated and they cant understand him, I think it is great. It is more eloquent, while Bush just seems like he has no clue about anything, always getting upset, knowing he is getting beat.

Like A King

Wow, I am in Rochester for work. I am at the Hawthorn Suites, and the suite I am in is like bigger than my apt. Two air conditioners, two tv’s. Unbelievable. If I had my guitar it would be just like home 😉

Blogger Problems, Traveling, etc

Well, I haven’t posted in a while. Blogger has been giving me issues, not letting me login, acting really slow, so I have been turned off a little. Well, I am back now!! I was also out of town last week, touring the north region. Detroit Lakes, Fargo, Grand Forks, and Brainerd. It was a good experience, but I have to play catch up now at work. This week I am heading to Rochester for a night, so that should be fun too. The damn thing is, hotels allow you to get on the internet, but not connect to VPN, they must block the ports that you need to connect to VPN. Oh well, one night not totally connected is good every once in a while.
