Playing Call of Duty 2, the British troops call the German Troops “Jerries”. Searching around on the net didn’t yield much, but I asked my Dad, and he asked a WWII vet, and here is what I got:
The term Jerry stems from WWI, the Germans used their helments to goto the bathroom in, just like we call the bathroom the “John”
Not sure if it is true, but its a good explination.

I found out today Im guilty. Guilty of sending emails where my hyperlinks I paste inside them arent actually hyperlinks, so that the user getting the email has to copy and paste them into their browser. What a PITA if you ask me. I see that you actually have to hit ENTER after pasting a url for the autoformat to work correctly. I looked a little bit for a macro or add-in that would auto check for hyperlinks that weren’t actually “hyper” before sending an email, but couldn’t find one easily. Maybe I will look into VS2005 for Office and just create a little add-in. Or I suppose I could just hit ENTER 🙂

I just installed MSN Messenger 8.0 Beta and I’d have to say it is pretty cool. Different, but cool. Looks like it has big improvements in contact management. You can rename contacts (nicknames) and it just seems better in that area. The GUI is new too, which is a change for once.
Wow, Sony just can’t get it right. First, they release cd’s with copy protection. Then, the copy protection is found to install a rootkit. Then, they say it is no big deal. Then recently, they say they will stop using the copy protection and offer and uninstaller. Thing is, the uninstaller leaves security holes open on the machine.
And then too add fuel to the fire, there are rumors (which Sony denies) that they are going to create some kind of locking feature on game discs so they will only play on one console, etc.
I am very disappointed in Sony. I have a PS2, but I don’t know if I am going to get a PS2. XBox 360 and/or Nintendo Revolution is what I will probably go with when they come out.
So I have a few old comic books laying around from garage sales, etc. Some of them are from the early 70’s. I went online to look some prices up, lo and behold, none of them are worth more than 5 bucks.
