Today must be hack free wi-fi day or something. Today I did my laundry, 4 loads. Every time I went up and down the the laundry room there was a different person from the building sitting on the basement stairs close to the coffee shop, hacking the wifi. Does anyone pay for cable modem’s anymore?
Speaking of coffee shop wi-fi, the last few days I have been working on a little home project, a secure SSH server/proxy so I can use that when I am over unsecured wi-fi. More details on that to come!
Randomly, I had Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger up at the same time. Funny though, they both had the same EBay ads up.
Which one did I click on? Neither 🙂
Just randomly by accident, I typed in a search in Google, and accidentally put an apostrophe in front of the word. On the results, I noticed something was wacked, the top search bar was missing. I tried this for multiple keywords. Not sure if this always happened or if it is just a little bug.

Seems to work fine in Firefox, but IE7 the top search box, logo, are missing. Weird
Stumbled across a pretty cool site the other day, Walk Score (https://www.redfin.com/how-walk-score-works) – you put in your address and it gives you back a score between 0 and 100 about how good your location is to walk around to other places nearby. I got a 94/100 – pretty good!

Wow, so anyway’s, I have been trying out the new RealPlayer (http://www.real.com) and it is pretty sweet. I don’t use it to play anything, but what it does add is a little thing in your browser to download YouTube videos, and other flash videos, directly to your computer. Awesome!
Also installed SongBird – by Mozilla. It is actually based on the Firefox code base. Reason why it is so sweet? It “plays the web”. You goto a site with mp3’s in it, and it shows which ones, you can play them, download them to your local library, etc. It is pretty sweet, great feature. As far as a player? Not sure yet, it is 0.98 version, I want to see version 1.0

Oh oh, its Friday the 13th. Watch for falling piano’s, and black cats, and whatever else you might think of that is superstitious in any way. Or dead guys with machete’s and hockey masks. So far half the day is gone and I haven’t had any bad luck, so I hope that it will continue that way.
What can be unlucky about a beautiful day, a Friday no less, in summer, in Portland? Phh, nothing I can see…. yet 😉
Yeah, not good, especially if you are sunburnt (man, I think I got sun poisoning!!! – but it is finally getting better) – anyway’s it is HOT in PDX today. I guess it was 104 at 4PM, now its 4:30 and its 101. I had to go to Starbucks, since my apartment was more like a sauna than anything. No air conditioning, not really needed when it gets hot 2-3 days a year. By 11 PM I am sure it will be good, but supposed to be hot tomorrow to.
Might be a Starbucks day tomorrow too 🙂
So, on the way to Sauvie Island, we stopped at a 7-Eleven to get a parking permit for the day, and even though the whole store wasn’t branded a Kwik-E-Mart, everything inside was “Simpsonized”, I just had to pick up a sixer of Buzz Cola. Not sure if I am going to drink it yet or not though 🙂
