“To sync your calendar”
Though you can’t sync your Google calendar with the Calendar app, you can see your Google calendar events by moving them to Outlook.com. For more info on how to do that, see How to see your Google events in the Calendar app.
This is a horrible solution. It is a shame that Microsoft can’t make things work, and at least Google/Microsoft get along enough to interop. Annoying.
I just blogged about Google Reader changes, and even though I will continue to use Google Reader, I am going to try a different workflow for “sharing” items. I picked up the domain myshareditems.com and pointed at a Posterous space. I can then use send to functionality in Google Reader to “share” items to that url. I might even try to get my previously shared items in there someday from Google Reader (you can export from the settings menu).
Who knows, but myshareditems.com could become a more central service for others to share as well if I was ambitious enough to do something like that, you never know. Anyways, it is an experiment in sharing outside of Google Reader, but not specific to a “service” (twitter, facebook, etc) but yet I don’t want it cloud up my main blog here, etc.. Will see how it works.

He has been working with NLBS and Windows Clustering on Windows NT 4 Server through 2008R2, creating clusters with IIS, File System, SQL, ISA, and Hyper-V, including geographically dispersed clusters. Michael has designed and implemented multiple systems for scalability, high availability and disaster recovery.

I have had countless mobile phones over the years. Starting with a Nokia 5125 back in like 97, moving up the Nokia chain, then to Sanyos when I worked for Northern PCS (A Sprint Affiliate), then Windows Mobile Phones (6601, etc), then a T-Mobile Dash, and now the iPhone. I have to say the iPhone win’s hands down, can’t even compare with WinMo. I’d like to get an Android phone to compare (G1 Developer Edition – Santa please?)
I’d say with iPhone the one thing that is severely lacking is copy/paste. Other than that, I can’t complain much. When you aren’t on 3G or Wifi it kind of stinks, but it is usable.
What mobile phone do you use and why? What are the pros/cons? Benefits?
Since moving to Madison, WI back in November of 2007, not much has changed as far as the living situation. The apartment we are in is ok, and I was planning on not moving for a while. I just counted today and I have moved like 12 times since 1998. Yikes.
The problem is.. our apartment management company, “The Madison Apartments”, aka “Fiduciary Real Estate”, aka “Stoneridge Pointe Condos” decided they wanted to turn our apartment into a condo. You see, most of the places around where we live are condos, and when we moved in, they said NOTHING about our place being converted into a condo.
Fast forward 6 months, we come home and have a letter saying basically “you can buy it, or you can move” which is total BS. On top of that, I asked if we could move out early, since we are being FORCED out. And of course they said no. Greedy, greedy. I really do hope someone run across this post and sees how greedy they are, and that they should look for somewhere else to live.
Anyway, we found some new condos in Sun Prairie, WI which is about 2 miles east of where we live now. These condos have been sitting empty for a while, and no one has even lived in them. We are moving in there next weekend, a bigger place, and just nicer all around.
The funny thing is, the old apartments are changing rentals into condos, and the new place is turning condos into rentals. You would think that these places would be wanting to keep rentals as rentals, especially the way the housing market is. Do they really think someone is going to buy the apartment we are in as a condo? If they did they would really be missing out. Overpriced and really just not worth how much they want for it.
So, #12 move, coming up here soon. This time I am getting smart and hiring movers. I will get a case of beer, and watch THEM move. So worth it.
